Job Description:

The Rotterdam-Rijnmond Safety Region is seeking a Policy Advisor Repression to support the Fire Department Repression team. Based at the World Port Center (WPC), this position focuses on advising and supporting policy development and implementation related to fire department operations, specifically within the area of repression (emergency response).

The Policy Advisor will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure operational alignment with regional safety goals and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings a combination of administrative precision, financial insight, and policy advisory experience particularly in public safety or government-related environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy advice to the Repression team within the Fire Department

  • Contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of policy frameworks and operational guidelines

  • Monitor and analyze performance data and translate findings into actionable advice

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align policy goals with operational capabilities

  • Assist in budget planning, financial reporting, and administrative support as a bookkeeper

  • Prepare clear reports, memos, and recommendations for senior leadership

Eisen (Requirements):

  • HBO/WO level education (preferably in Public Administration, Safety Studies, or related field)

  • Demonstrated experience in policy advisory roles, ideally within public safety or government

  • Strong administrative and financial skills (bookkeeping experience is a plus)

  • Knowledge of or affinity with fire department operations and repression strategies

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch (both written and spoken)

  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under time pressure

  • Familiarity with local/regional government processes is an advantage

Additional Information:

  • This is a temporary assignment from October 20, 2025, to December 31, 2025

  • On-site work at the World Port Center (WPC), Rotterdam is expected

  • Possibility of extension or future collaboration based on performance and project needs
