Job Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Claims Technician to join our Claims Department at MSIG speacialty marine.

As a Claims Technician, you will provide essential administrative support, manage the intake and triaging of new claims, and assist in some light handling of claims. Besides those two key functions, you will also assist in taking care of any administrative tasks. As a team, you function as the support for the entire claims department.

 This is an entry-level position, ideal for individuals with strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail, and an interest in the marine insurance business.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

• Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Claims Department, such as processing the hours written by the claims department, assisting with the digital archiving system and other tasks that might arise.
• Identify problem areas in the processes

Claims Coordination

• Coordinate and triage new claims, determining the appropriate course of action and directing them to the relevant team members in a timely manner.
• Correctly assess the urgency of the incoming claim based on (sometimes) limited information.
• Ensure proper communication between different departments.

Claims Handling

• Assist in handling simple claims, following established protocols and guidelines to ensure timely resolution.
• Swiftly identify when matters require escalation to a more senior member of staff.
• Ensure pragmatic and swift handling of a large volume of claims

Qualifications:

• Skills:

• Administrative skills: Strong organizational and administrative abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A main part of this is being able to switch quickly between different tasks.
• Accuracy: high attention to detail, ensuring all work is precise and error-free.
• Pragmatism: the ability to recognize when a pragmatic approach is needed versus when to focus on detailed precision.
• Languages: proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
